Each year, many Americans visit a pharmacy counter for one reason or another.
They turn in a prescription, pick one up, ask for health care advice, inquire about a particular drug or therapy, or, my all-time favorite: "Where's the toilet paper"?
This, in a nutshell, is what the practice of pharmacy has become; the once idealistic person wearing the "Pharmacist" name tag serving public health needs, while the public plods along clueless as to what REALLY happens in pharmacies all across America.
Many, if not most times, inquires will be received politely, by a pharmacist who is truly dedicated to answering those questions, who is seething inside. But, the questions will be answered.
Why are things this way?
Well, I'll tell you why. That's what this blog is all about.
